We
have found that the best way to remove the body is to
first cut off the roof to make access easier. Take out all the glass
and either hack saw or grind through the pillars - the middle pillars
have a strong steel tube inside them to about 3" above the
upper seat belt mountings so either cut above or use a sharp metal
blade in the hacksaw!
To
unbolt the body we start at the back and either unbolt
or grind the heads off the bolts holding the body to the chassis:
-
4
bolts are in the load area,
Bolts either side attaching the seat belt base anchorages
Inner seat belt mountings
Seat runners attach through to the chassis
2 outriggers beneath the door leading edges
Floor pan next to gearbox
Front cross member (accessed easily by cutting off the front grill
area.
Two
people can lift the body tub off - 4 people make the
job much easier
You should now have a rolling chassis.
